A journey that brought us in contact with some brilliant personalities and energized organizations. We were quite honored to get several unique opportunities to make value-add contributions to whom we serviced this year. The list includes several technology start-ups, mid-sized and MNC organizations and their teams in Research, Intellectual Property Rights and Business Development. Our work with them included integrating IP Strategy into their business plans, developing patenting strategies to protect their technologies and business interests, drafting patents, invalidation proceedings, freedom to operate analyses and contracts involving IP.
Our journey also took us to different parts of the country and abroad through the training and education services. Training remains a committed activity and we are extremely happy to be able to reach out to different interest groups to disseminate our knowledge on different aspects of IPRs. The interaction with a wider audience also enriches us and helps us to keep our learning attitude alive. We thank all the organizations that invite us or partner with us on our training initiatives including World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); Department of Science and Technology, Patent Facilitating Cell (PFC); Engineering Colleges, Centre for International Co-operation in Science (CICS), and Confederation of Indian Industry.
A special mention needs to be made for the Women Scientists Scheme of Department of Science and Technology and the co-ordinating bodies, PFC and CICS for involving us in this initiative every year since its inception to help train women scientists in IPR field. It is a special privilege to be associated with each and every aspect of this initiative from the selection to training to providing internships to these candidates. The interns who are working with us through this program add great value to our organization, and we acknowledge their contribution and their patience in learning the new skills in this field.
2010 was also special as we initiated an annual Conference in co-operation with Licensing Executives Society, LES India. The Conference is aimed to take up issues and aspects of IPRs that go beyond awareness into more depth. The 2010 Conference was titled “Situations That Impact Patent Rights in India” and we were overwhelmed with the positive response and feedback on the Conference. Such success only comes through a very dedicated effort from the speakers and the lively interaction with the participants, and we thank all those who were a part of this effort with us.
As we step into 2011, several of these initiatives and partnerships will continue with the learnings and insights of the year gone by. We make a commitment for excellence in all we do in 2011.
